Samuel is a recent honors graduate of the University of Virginia where he studied Kinesiology. As a Kinesiology major, he has gained a thorough understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology. He has used this knowledge and training to lead and assist in exercise science research initiatives. As the lead researcher of an independent research project reviewing the literature regarding the rehabilitation of Achilles tendinopathy through exercise, he has gained experience in data acquisition, analysis, comparison, and interpretation. He has used these skills to determine findings that can be applied to a clinical rehabilitation setting. In the Spring semester of 2024 at UVA, he was a research assistant, where he systematized the organization and extraction of data. This research will be used to further the knowledge of female sports performance. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Samuel has made use of his strong communication and collaborative skills. He has used these skills to effectively work in a team setting to accomplish his goal of compassionate and holistic care of patients. Additionally, Samuel has served as a volunteer at a teaching hospital, gaining experience in the continuity of care and providing administrative support. In his future career in medicine, Samuel is especially interested in opportunities that allow him to use his knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. He hopes to use his analytical and interpretive skills to advance healthcare, sports performance, and rehabilitation. Outside of his career interests, Samuel enjoys analyzing NBA statistics, watching good films, and playing the acoustic guitar.
