Tonkin Gap Alliance

TONKIN GAP ALLIANCE AND ASSOCIATED WORKS - $400MThe Tonkin Gap project is being delivered by the Tonkin Gap alliance, comprised of BMD, Georgiou Group, WA Limestone, BG&E and GHD and will significantly improve congestion on one of Perth’s most congested roads. Works include widening Tonkin Highway to provide new lanes in each direction from Dunreath Drive to Collier Road, new bridges over the Swan River, Dunstone Road, Guildford Road, Railway Parade and a new fully grade-separated Principal Shared Path on the western side of Tonkin Highway from north of the Guildford Road interchange to Stanton Road. Responsible for the delivery of all structures within the ‘Tonkin Gap’ zone of the project. This is inclusive of the below:- Two T-Roff Beam bridges at Guildford Road adjacent high voltage transmission power lines.- Two T- Roff beam bridges at Railway parade, above live Midland rail line.- Two precast plank bridges at Dunstone Road.- 270m Incrementally Launched bridge across the Swan River adjacent the existing Redcliffe Bridge- Three Pedestrian Underpasses- Three Steel Pedestrian Footbridges.- Demolition of the existing Victoria St footbridge above Tonkin Hwy.

ROE HIGHWAY AND KALAMUNDA ROAD INTERCHANGE - $50MThe Project Works include all investigation, design and construction required to construct a grade separated interchange with Kalamunda Road bridging over Roe Highway, in accordance with the specified lane configurations, including a dog-bone style interchange.

SKYBRIDGE (Perth Airport) - $26MThe new Skybridge is an elevated walkway connecting the Perth Airport T1 Terminal with the Airport Central Rail Station. The Skybridge consists of engineered box shaped steel truss elements spanning between reinforced concrete “T” Piers. There are 12 spans and 12 piers within the 270m long walkway, and 3 building nodes providing vertical access and egress to the walkway.

OLD MANDURAH TRAFFIC BRIDGE REPLACEMENT (Mandurah) - $42MThe two‐lane structure of the Old Mandurah Bridge is no longer sufficient to manage increasing traffic in the area. Georgiou has been awarded the contract to build the new Incrementally Launched Mandurah traffic and pedestrian bridge over the Mandurah Estuary.

REID HIGHWAY DUPLICATION (Malaga + Balcatta) - $65MThe Reid Highway Duplication includes works on the Reid Highway/Malaga Drive Interchange and widening of Reid Highway between Duffy Road and Marmion Avenue which will significantly improve safety and traffic flow along Reid Highway in Balcatta, Carine and Malaga.

GATEWAY WA (Forrestfield) - $954MA major upgrade to the road network surrounding Perth Airport and the freight and industrial hubs of Kewdale and Forrestfield, as well as the construction of five new grade separated interchanges. The project also incorporates facilities and connections for pedestrians and cyclists, noise walls, landscaping, innovative urban design and the use of intelligent transport system technology.

ABERNETHY LOOP (Gateway WA - Forrestfield) - $7MThe Project provided an on‐ramp to Tonkin Highway via Abernethy Road. The on‐ramp provided relief to traffic congestion during the Gateway project by allowing road users, in particular freight operators, to no longer need to wait at the heavily congested intersections of Leach Highway or Kewdale Road/Horrie Miller Drive in order to travel southbound on Tonkin Highway or to connect to Roe Highway.

ORD IRRIGATION EXPANSION PHASE II (Kununurra WA) - $200MProject Overview: A Lump sum GMP Earthworks Irrigation Project to construct major water supply, drainage, flood protection and carriageway construction for 7,500 hectares of new farmland. The project was located in Kununurra with key performance indicators focused around indigenous outcomes. Project infrastructure comprised of 21km of major irrigation channel, 26km of road embankment and pavement works, 70km of open cut drainage and flood protection works. The project was located in the Kimberley with a tropical monsoon climate, it was critical drainage systems were complete and road layers were sealed in the 5 month window the dry season provided.
