As Deputy Head (Pastoral) at MGS, I lead on pupil support/guidance and act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.In the classroom, I teach Biology, with additional subjects such as PSHE/Games. I supervise Sixth Formers who are completing Biology-based Extended Project Qualifications, and I teach after-school lessons to prepare pupils who are applying to study medicine. I have previously taught Biology to International Baccalaureate students.Outside of the classroom, I am passionate about outdoor pursuits. I supervise Duke of Edinburgh Award groups every year and use my Mountain Leader qualification to lead walks at an annual school camp in Borrowdale. I have accompanied pupils on multiple trekking expeditions to Scotland, Wales, Norway and the Pyrenees, in addition to winter climbing courses in the Cairngorms. In 2023, I led an 11-day school trek of the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails in Iceland.I am a qualified Leader in Running Fitness and regularly lead groups for my local running club, where I am also the Membership Secretary and a Wellbeing Champion. I ran the London Marathon in 2019 and was delighted to raise more than £5,000 in sponsorship for the Teenage Cancer Trust. In 2024, I returned to the London Marathon with a place kindly provided by my running club.
