About Samuel Curtis

Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the lab of Drs. Bert Vogelstein and Ken Kinzler focused on developing novel NGS assays and machine learning algorithms for earlier detection of cancer in liquid biopsies.I obtained my bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California Santa Barbara, where I worked as a Research Associate with Dr. Kevin Plaxco. While there, I optimized biology-inspired sensors for point-of-care diagnostic applications and developed numerical algorithms for calibration-free analysis, signal processing, and drift correction.
