I think of myself as a fixer. When things aren’t working quite the way they should, I love nothing morethan to come in, take things apart piece-by-piece, find the problems, and rebuild everything within asystem that works like a well-oiled machine.Speaking of well-oiled machines, my problem-solving skillset has made me incredibly valuable as aleader in the transportation industry. Earlier in my career, I managed operations in convenience storefranchises, warehouses, storefronts, and military operations. Each role was a little bit different, butthey all had one major thing in common... things would break, and they needed fixing. And when I saythings, I’m talking about scheduling processes, shipping and receiving procedures, hiring protocols,customer relations... anything that would impact the bottom line. And I learned to fix these things,using data, relationships, and critical thinking.I’m so glad I had all those experiences because they prepared me to thrive when I found my passionfor the transportation industry. The combination of logistics, strategy, relationship building, and talentmanagement makes this field perfect for me. It’s where I have done my absolute best work. All theproblem solving and process optimization skills I picked up in my other roles have been incrediblyvaluable in my work as a Director of Transportation.While I am momentarily outside the transportation industry, I very much look forward to making myreturn in the near future!
