I am a Project Superintendent at Clancy & Theys Construction Company based out of Raleigh, NC.My interest in the construction industry started with my first "real" summer job when I turned 16 years of age. My first job was with Stokes Construction, a commercial construction company based out of Albemarle, NC. During my time at Stokes I realized just how self-rewarding a career in the industry could be. The fact that you can see the progress of your work at the end of each day is a major factor as to why I gained interest in the field of construction. From Stokes Construction I went on to work for Garmon Mechanical Services; a commercial and residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical company based out of Albemarle, NC. Working with a MEP contractor provided me with invaluable knowledge pertaining to buildings as a system of components that must work together properly in order to create a well-functioning structure. Seeing a building as a system of components working together is what sparked my interest in the Building Science program at Appalachian State University. Within the program, I was able to study the importance of energy efficiency, sustainable design, construction processes and innovative materials by using applied learning techniques and the most current computer software that could be applied to building design, estimating, engineering, and scheduling. After graduating, I took a job with Frank L. Blum Construction Company. During my time at FLB, I worked on multiple commercial projects ranging from renovations to large-scale metal framed structures. I am currently working at Clancy & Theys where I have completed both multi-family and education projects such as West Millbrook Middle School and the Channel House Apartments.
