Mechanical Engineering - Integrated Masters Student

Intern Mechanical Engineer.During my time I worked on the FE modelling of structures across the whole range of JCB machines using Altair Hyperworks. I produced many models using linear and non-linear cases and also performed modal analysis. A key element to the job was reading complex output files and presenting them to designers in a way that was concise and understandable for someone with limited FEA experience. I also got involved with physical strain gauging and even got to see a prototype machine undergoing some very extreme tests

Intern mechanical engineer.In this role I played a key role in many aspects of the business and developed skills including:Design engineering, communicating with suppliers, manufacturing / assembly, fit out and pressure testing.How a drawing office operates and common issues which arise during production.Useful knowledge regarding Swagelok pressure fittings.I became a valuable member of the team throughout the 10 weeks and stepped in onmany occasions when co-workers were out of office.
