I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Iowa State University in December 2017. The focus of my research was applying Software and Requirements Engineering techniques to the development of safety-critical molecular programmed systems. My dissertation, "Devices for Safety-Critical Molecular Programmed Systems," covers the development of a Molecular Watchdog Timer, a Logging Algorithm, and Boolean Logic Gates all constructed from Chemical Reaction Networks and designed for robust correctness.Throughout my graduate career I was a Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant. I was a teaching assistant for courses in Software Requirements Engineering, Programming Languages, and Algorithm Design and Complexity. I received a Research Fellowship from the Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in September 2014. I also received a Teaching Excellence Award from the Iowa State University Graduate College in April 2017 for my work as a teaching assistant.
