I am a first-year Psychology student at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a strong passion for research in neuroscience, mental health, and forensic psychology. My academic journey has been shaped by meaningful research experiences and a deep commitment to community service, which has further fueled my aspiration to create impactful solutions to pressing societal issues.Research ExperienceMy journey in research includes an internship at the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), where I conducted literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and report writing focused on the application of neuroscience and cognitive technologies like fMRIs to improve adult learning in Continuing Education and Training (CET). Additionally, I served as the Principal Investigator for a study on mindfulness, culminating in a publication in SAGE Journals: Proceedings of Singapore Healthcare, titled "Evaluating the efficacy of a modified mindfulness program in enhancing psychosocial wellbeing and cognitive functions of community-dwelling older adults." Through these research experiences, I managed to hone my data analytics skills by using software such as STATA, Qualtrics, and Jamovi. As I continue my academic journey, I am looking to secure a role as a Research Assistant in psychology-related fields, contributing to projects in neuroscience, mental health, or forensic psychology, while further developing my research expertise.Personal Interests Outside academics, I enjoy writing and reading poetry, playing chess, and engaging in thought-provoking debates. I have been actively involved in volunteering with a variety of communities, including children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, migrant workers, and families in need. These experiences have not only broadened my perspective but also strengthened my drive to ensure that my research has practical applications that improve lives.
