Graduate student teaching assistant in the VCU departments of Sociology and Political Science.Courses include: Introduction to Sociology, Gender in Society, and Sociology of Economic Inequality, US Government and Politics, and Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Science Research Methods.

The Shift Supervisor at Rock Spot Climbing is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to members and guests. While overseeing the day to day operations of the gym as the supervisor on duty they will handle all sales, coordinate floor staff and promote relevant products and events. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Gym and Programs Managers.

- Responsible for providing a welcoming environment for climbers of all skill and experience levels.- Provide high quality orientations, belay instruction, and belay services for members and guests.- Monitor the climbing floor for potential safety hazards and regularly evaluate customer belay skills.- Maintain the quality of the climbing product by performing necessary route maintenance tasks as needed, in order to provide a safe climbing environment.

-Supports customers by responding to product, membership and REI service questions, general inquiries and customer feedback.-Effectively helps to prepare the store: maintains and stocks work areas making sure all items are accurately priced.-Works with store management, visual merchandising point person, and Sales Leads to maintain visual standards.-Promotes the sale of REI goods and services as well as engaging in the steps of REI’s Sales and Service Training.-Provide customers with product, membership and service information including but not limited to the REI Mastercard program.-Processes purchase, membership, service and return transactions at the register in alignment with REI’s 100% satisfaction guarantee. Collect payment for goods, make change, and distribute receipts.-Performs unique transactions such as special orders, Outdoor School registration, special ticket sales, and store mail-outs.-Identifies, research, and resolve customer issues.-Supports Retail Store Pick-Up by assisting with the receipt of product from truck and processing customer pick-up.-Maintains customer and employee hold area by keeping the area organized and removing items that are beyond the hold dates.

Accountable to the Commanding Officer for manpower allocation and management, government charge card, official travel, casualty affairs, correspondence, military awards, etc.Additionally, responsible for the procedural control of aircraft and missiles within Direct Air Support Center airspace during exercises and real-world contingencies.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of various heavy machinery and aggregate production facilities.
