Alongside the work required for my MPhil degree, I took part in various other academic activities throughout my studies in Cambridge. For example, I was invited to present a paper on representations of death in the second movement of Arnold Bax’s Symphony No. 1 at Durham University's international conference, 'Music, Mortality, and Ritual: A Death Studies Symposium'.Music Analysis is my field of specialism, with a particular focus on late 19th/early 20th century symphonies. Currently working on an analysis of Walton's First Symphony, and Bax's seven-symphony cycle.
