Primary role is to assist in LiDAR scanning, register and add control to the scan files using cyclone core. Export them in various different file formats to be used in other programs like Recap for cleaning out any excess an messy point cloud.Required to operate survey equipment like the Lica RTX360, P30 scanner, Multi-stations and total stations.I’m required to be very flexible in my role. Travelling to other offices in different states to assist on projects. Such as the M6 tunnels in Sydney. I worked in the excavation crew, doing cuts and monitoring. An helping to calibrate the Road header’s. Responsible for exporting and managing my own data collected on each day.I assist the other survey divisions with in the company with level runs and traverses other surveying tasks when required.

Started out over 6 months ago as an assistant surveyor (Instrument Hand). In that time I’ve gained an understanding of the use and application of survey equipment on a construction projects. Setting up the total station in a spaces that provides best observation of the area I’m working on with adequate control in view to use for a resection. Once setup up I’m capable of doing Set Outs, Pick ups on as built/ WAE, pre pour checks and pick on services. I also have assisted on set out and shooting in of new control onsite and have an understanding of the process that go into it. I’ve been trained on the use of the 12d survey field. Importing and exporting data, using it to connect to survey equipment like the GPS and total station. So I can use them to complete my tasks unsupervised.I’ve been trained in the use of scanning equipment such as the Trimble x7 and tx8 to conduct scans of asbuild data and areas that engineers require detailed data on to use for plans for services and new structures. Once completed scanning I will process them, an export the data onto a computer for further processing.
