The Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT) is a £4.2 billion project comprising a storage and transfer tunnel for intercepting sewage discharges to prevent overflows into the tidal River Thames. The tunnel will collect and transfer flows for treatment at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works. The main tunnel is 25km long, varies from 6.5 to 7.2m internal diameter and is up to 69m deep. The project comprises 24 sites, passing through 14 London Boroughs from Acton in the west to Abbey Mills in the east.Responsible for the project management of all early and enabling construction activities on existing and newly acquired TTT project sites to ensure safe, secure and well managed operation prior to handover to the main works contractor. As project manager I am accountable for the planning, procurement, delivery, monitoring and budget control for multiple works packages including building demolition, utility works, site establishment and invasive species eradication.

Aug 2012 –Jan 2014: Site Information Manager - Thames Water Tideway Tunnel Scheme:Responsible for all aspects of NEC Site Information data management including the co-ordination and development of the Site Information package for inclusion in the tender documentation for all contracts.Jan 2011 – Aug 2012: Planning and Scheduling Engineer - Thames Tideway Tunnel Project:Provide planning and scheduling for the design management team including coordination of the contractor/consultants work and development of detailed work schedules.Oct 2010 – Jan 2011: Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Shift Engineer - Brighton and Hove Stormwater:Underground shift engineer on the Lovat supplied TBM tunnelling from the Ovingdean launch site to the Marine Drive reception site. Responsibilities included the day to day supervision and management of all underground tunnelling works including the survey control required for TBM navigation and the successful breakthrough at the Marine Drive reception shaft.Jun 2010 – Oct 2010: Tender bid team - Hinkley Point C, Marine Works package:Working within the bid team for the Phase 1 Tender of the £250 million Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station, Marine Works Package.Aug 2010 – Dec 2010: Infrastructure UK, Tunnelling Cost Study:Investigation led by Infrastructure UK in collaboration with wider government, the Institution of Civil Engineers and the British Tunnelling Society. I was seconded into the tunnel infrastructure steering group where I was responsible for the collation and presentation of tunnelling data gathered across 7 countries used to inform the cost data benchmarking exercise.Apr 2010 – Jun 2010 GRIP 4 Tender Bid team - Thameslink KO2, London Bridge Station:Construction planning and construction phasing input into the Arup Lead Design Organisation bid team for the £400 million GRIP stage 4 - single option development tender document for the London Bridge Station Package.

Combe Down Stone Mine - Land Stabilisation Project

The Supervision of underground works for the largest mine stabilisation project in the UK involving some 800 properties. The works were mainly underground but also included a significant amount of surface works inclusive stabilisation of over 130 shafts.Involved in monitoring the compliance of the Contractor’s underground works with project specification and designs and the production of daily reports for the NEC Technical Supervisor.The Supervision and verification of the underground stabilisation infill works in accordance with various Inspection and Test Plans.Production of site instructions, early warning notifications, defect notifications and non compliance notifications and was directly involved with the resolution of technical queries and improving site logistics. Project risk management for foamed concrete delivery pipe installation, temporary underground stabilisation works, pillar classification, collapse identification and migration of foamed concrete outside the confines of the mine boundary.The production of hazard maps to assess the risks of concrete placement with respect to mine roof conditions.Involved in the design, supervision and verification of the bat mitigation works which involved the construction of SCL bat chambers within the Mines complex.Responsible for the coordination and production of assurance documentation throughout the project life including compliance submissions, sign-off certification, verification reports and ultimately the production of over 900 Summary of Stabilisation Works Reports for individual properties which were distributed to the relevant Combe Down residents.
