Political geographers possess the distinctive aptitude to apply diverse theories and methods to analyze and understand our rapidly changing world. My subject matter expertise sits at the intersection of Political Geography, Security Studies, and International Relations. It focuses on an enhanced understanding of the ways risk, instability, violence, and resilience emerge, evolve, and persist within complex landscapes of (in)security at varying socio-spatial scales--from exploring state-level geostrategy to embodied experiences of living in insecurity. My current research seeks to investigate the ways emerging security challenges, like climate change, may exacerbate existing societal tensions, disrupt geopolitical relationships, and create new threats to national and international security, as well as human security today and into the future.
