During periods of non-employment I did small construction and odd jobs working for myself

Set Belt drives and laid rail-way track in various underground mine in WV.

• I Helped get a new miner section set-up to produce coal and also firebossed the working areas.

• I was hired as a scoop and bolter operator on a super section but was moved to fireboss where I was responsible for all belt lines and travel-ways.

• Originally started working as an outby utility worker where I set belt heads and did all general outby work as well as helping on the miner section when I was needed I worked doing this for three years until I got my Asst Mine Foreman certificate when I became a section foreman on a dual miner section where I was responsible for a thirteen man crew. After a year I was moved to Asst to the GM where I was responsible for production at four separate mines where I shared responsibilities with the superintendents getting the mines producing more coal and complying with Safety and Production plans. I also filled in for the company’s asst safety director for a period of one month until a replacement was found in which i was responsible for typing and makings general mine plans and permits.
