University of Worcester Year 3 student - Sport therapy BSc (hons) degree:A committed sports therapy student completing core modules to a high standard, with a growing interest in the psychological implications of injury and rehabilitation and how that enables effective patient centered care.Through years 1 and 2 of study I was actively involved in the university onsite massage clinics working to a diary system for booked appointments providing effective sports massage to a wide variety of patients to aide active recovery whilst developing my client to therapist relationship through building of strong rapport. In year 3, I am actively engaged in weekly injury clinics where I diagnose and treat patients suffering from various injuries. Patient feedback on my interventions and approach has been strong with endorsement of my recommended treatment plans from qualified physiotherapist.Alvechurch FC - Placement October 2023 - Present Securing a season long placement with Alvechurch FC, I assist with training and rehabilitation twice a week and during match days. I take players through rehabilitation plans set out by myself with guided supervision, the goal to return players back to full fitness. Am skilled in use of treatments (therapeutic ultrasound, taping, massage, and Maitland mobilisations) to aide players suffering with musculoskeletal injury. On match days I manage to a plan, ensuring each player receives specific pre match treatment including, massage, taping/strapping, and mobilisations. I support with pitch side first aide to assess the severity of injuries and balanced judgment on a player’s ability to continue considering injury sustained.Cleeve Chiropractic and Physiotherapy - Placement June 2023 - July 2023 Working within a private musculoskeletal clinic I engaged with variety of injuries varying from a pediatric patient with cerebral palsy to a patient who had suffered severe trauma resulting in multiple injuries to both lower and upper limbs. Whilst dealing with different ages of patients, a patient centered approach was always at the forefront of thinking to ensure quality care was delivered. I was able to make specific rehabilitation plans tailored to each individual and incorporate Maitland mobilisations, PNF stretching and various exercises to further rehabilitate patients.

  As a customer assistant I have learnt to deal with the general public through many different roles including working in concessions departments, undertaking floor and screen maintenance, and manning the gates. In 2020/21 I was selected to be part of the COVID Safety Team responsible for decisions on managing the flow of customers in and out of the cinema to minimise impacts of COVID whilst maintaining customer safety.
