As Chief Risk Officer, maintain full responsibility for interest rate risk management, deposit and loan pricing decisions, investment portfolio management, determining the allowance for credit losses, bond and liability insurance, loan and deposit concentrations, and tax reporting. • Developed game changing initiatives that include adding 10 new retail branches and 17 ATMs, launching AI-driven platforms, and improving online and mobile banking services.• Launched commercial deposits and loans at the credit union in 2004. Expanded from 661 accounts and $1.2M in total deposits in the first year to more than 11,000 accounts and $128.7M in deposits today. Increased the loan business from 50 loans totaling $4.2M in 2004 to 417 accounts and loans totaling $182.4M in 2024. Serve on the Commercial Loan Committee responsible for loan review, setting package terms, and final approvals.• Serve as Chairman of the Asset Liability Management and Enterprise Risk Management Committees to meet or exceed financial expectations and regulatory requirements. Evaluate financial decision-making, evaluate major aggregate risk to earnings, and conduct quarterly reporting at the Committee and Board levels.
Chief Financial Officer (Cfo)
• Led the overall financial direction and actions of the Credit Union to realize strategic plan objectives, deliver growth targets, and implement priority initiatives. In FY 2016, achieved $69M in income on $1.4B in assets, net income of $16M, and a 1.16% return on assets. Managed 6 direct reports and external Legal, Bonding and Insurance, Regulatory Compliance, and Information Security partners.• Headed the Information Technology function, with responsibility for maintaining mission-critical operating systems, supporting telecommunications services, and developing and implementing the business continuity plan. Led an implementation initiative that upgraded mobile and online banking services for members. • Managed a majority of back-of-the-house operations, encompassing Individual and Retail Retirement Accounts, 457 Plans, Electronic Services, Collections, Accounting, Finance, Investments, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance filing, and reporting for currency transactions and suspicious activities. • Worked in close collaboration with the CEO and Board to navigate a challenging period of negative net income between 2008 and 2010 caused by higher-than-expected mortgage-related loan losses during the Great Recession. Developed a long-term financial structure forecast, improved transparency, increased collaboration and engagement, streamlined operations, and returned to profitability ahead of schedule.
