My design projects included industry-specific internal mechanical chambers as well as sheet metal external enclosure design.I went on to complete my final year project with Syft, designing and manufacturing a product called the Ion Funnel. The ion funnel is an existing product used in other mass spectrometry devices, but never been implemented in SIFT-MS nor the Syft Instrument. The specific application presented a number of challenges including extreme environments, space constraints and integration with a complex system.
