I am currently in my 3nd year of my Undergraduate degree and will be completing a year-in-industry with Perspectum Oxford. I am extremely keen on working in research science and want to work for a company or institute on biomedical problems, such as disease. My long-term goal is to complete a PhD and publish academic literature in my field, although I am still finding out what field I am most interested in. I am a committed and organised person who uses a growth mindset to develop myself and overcome challenges.Biology A level, Chemistry A level, Environmental Science A level, Core Maths, EPQGrades: A,A,A,A,ALaboratory Work – at both sixth form and university I have had valuable insight into lab work, working alongside companies like the Babraham Institute on a project involving PTEN protein giving me a big drive to progress my research science career.Visting Labs outside of my colleges – I got the opportunity to visit the Sygnature Discovery labs in Macclesfield for a day of touring and learning about the day-to-day tasks of a CRO. I was taught about flow cytometry, mass spectrometry and the corporate side of their company. This was valuable as I could apply this knowledge back into my education and as well as this I came away with a further passion for drug design and research science.I am confident in the basics of bioinformatics and confident with the coding language R.Football – I captain a 6-a-side team playing every week while at university. I am responsible for arranging the team for the fixture, collecting payment, sending payment to Power League, setting and running training sessions and managing difficult situations between members and other teams.DJ – I have been DJing for over a year now, I have played at a few venues alongside friends, been on Mondo Radio Sheffield and have uploaded lots of music to my SoundCloud.
