As the Executive Director of Emergent Technology & Academic Transformation, I spearhead strategic planning and project management for AI and VR/AR initiatives, guiding and supporting university leaders on technological advancements that drive academic and institutional transformation. As a co-leader of the Generative AI Taskforce (GAIT), I provide strategic recommendations on AI's impact on teaching and learning, conduct assessments, and organize interdisciplinary workshops. I also maintain a database of best practices, manage fund sourcing and budget allocation, and represent the university at forums.My deliverables include securing $100,000 in donor funding for VR headsets, leading the development of a generative AI advising tool, creating data and AI ethics principles, building an AI resources website, and designing AI training workshops.

As the Director of Faculty Affairs, I have the privilege of supporting and collaborating with fellow academic leaders to develop and implement strategies that foster a diverse and inclusive faculty body, cultivating an environment that promotes student and faculty success and retention. Working closely with the AVP of Faculty Affairs as well as our Program Manager, I co-manage crucial faculty processes, such as retention, tenure, promotion, faculty leave, and emeritus status evaluations.Promoting diversity, professional development, and improved pedagogy is a priority, and I work closely with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion leadership and the Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Design to achieve these goals.Communication plays a vital role in my position, as I regularly engage with AVPs and the Provost to share insights on the outcomes of review processes, offering valuable input on decisions made at all levels of evaluation. I proactively make suggestions as needed to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of academic excellence and faculty development.Supporting chairs and deans is another key aspect of my responsibilities, especially when it comes to faculty disciplinary matters. I guide them through the decision-making process required for evaluating concerns, implementing appropriate sanctions, and addressing appeals, ensuring fairness and adherence to policies. When necessary, I facilitate discussions between General Counsel, Equal Opportunity representatives, and HR to chart a clear path forward. I also I design and manage various initiatives for Associate Deans, Chairs, and faculty, including facilitating workshops that empower our academic leaders to excel and drive progress within their respective roles.Lastly, I work closely with the Director of Data and Analytics, HR, IT, and Registrar to enhance the collection, verification, and reporting of academic- and faculty-related data, enabling data-driven decision-making.

Prior to entering into senior administration, I spent over 10 years in the university classroom where I taught courses in Rhetoric, Argumentation, and Media Studies, with a particular focus on exploring how media technologies shape and disseminate ideas and arguments that influence our decision-making processes. As the Executive Director of Online Learning at MSU Denver, I led a dedicated team in providing high-quality virtual education. My role encompassed overseeing our day-to-day operations, strategic decision-making, and fostering a supportive environment for over 250 online faculty and 7,000 students.

Following the return-to-faculty by our Vice Provost, I served in this acting role which involved streamlining Office of Faculty Affairs processes and operations, overseeing faculty review processes, hiring and training a Program Manager, and handling the onboarding and training of a new AVP of Faculty Affairs.

As the Inaugural Presidential Faculty Fellow, I leveraged my extensive experience to support decision-making processes for university leaders, collaborating closely with the MSU Denver president, VPs, AVPs, and other key stakeholders across campus.In addition, I played a crucial role in assisting new executives during their onboarding, guiding them through our organizational culture, guiding principles, and strategic plan, ensuring a smooth integration and alignment with the university's mission and goals. I also provided valuable insights on areas for improvement, fostering stronger relationships and contributing to the establishment of a diverse and equitable workplace.To enhance transparency and inclusivity, I facilitated listening sessions with deans, chairs, faculty, and staff, ensuring that their concerns and needs were heard by senior leaders. By doing so, we strengthened our decision-making processes and created an environment where everyone's voice was valued.Some of my notable accomplishments include collaborating with the COO and Chief of Staff on Covid-19 related strategic planning and decision-making. I designed communications and conducted listening sessions with campus stakeholders to address their concerns during this critical time.Additionally, I provided support to the Interim VP of Strategy, Marketing, and Communication, AVP of Strategic Communication, and Director of Government Affairs, aiding them in understanding and integrating into the unique MSU Denver culture.Moreover, I had the privilege of consulting directly with the President on internal and external communications. In this role, I collaborated with the Department Chair in support of strategic planning efforts related to recruitment, retention, and curriculum, and led department initiatives focused on brand awareness, marketing, and fundraising. I managed 30+ affiliate faculty members in the department as well as recruitment and retention initiatives, scheduling, and facilitating professional development workshops.During my tenure, I worked with Chair to redesign the strategy and design of how courses were scheduled and staffed, leading to an increase in classroom fill rates and a more efficient usage of affiliate faculty.
