Samuel Katz attends Boston University as a Film and Television Major, and a Business Minor. Since a young age, he has possessed a deep passion for the silver screen. He hopes to combine his current areas of study in a way that will one day allow him to share empowering and enriching stories with others. Samuel is involved in multiple organizations on campus at Boston University, including Boston University's premiere production and distribution network, BUTV10. Furthermore, Samuel is extremely passionate about the environment. This passion has led him to conduct volunteer work at the Environmental Student Organization as well as maintain a position at the environmentally conscious company, Saybrooke Environmental Management. Besides his work at Saybrooke, Samuel has had multiple professional experiences. From 2016-2019, he worked at Cape Cod Sea Camps – an institution that was deemed the largest teen leadership program in the country – as a Junior Film & Videography Counselor. Additionally, Sam has worked for DoorDash as a creative brand ambassador and an actor and assistant on Adam Sandler’s 2020 film “Hubie Halloween.”Sam has continued his work at Saybrooke along with interning as the Creative Director at Big Fridge Productions in London. As Creative Director, he had to single handedly take on large creative projects from clients and the company itself, which honed his skills in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, Stop Motion, and creative development. Recently, Sam has accepted a position at Sakura Cha Meet, where he continues his work creatively while he pitches, films, and edits documentary style film and social media content that will be showcased at the United Nations and the Japan Society. On top of that, Sam has begun his role as a film reviewer for the Austin Film Festival.Samuel has a deep passion for creating his own independent work, and so has directed, produced and written multiple films including a horror short titled “Knock Knock.” He is currently working on a feature-length screenplay and sitcom spec script that he hopes to submit to screenwriting festivals and competitions in the near future. Samuel is well-versed in Adobe Premiere, Google and Microsoft Office Applications, cinematography, podcasting, photography, and Canon C100 videography.
