Led a multi-functional organization of 200 technicians, analysts, and metallurgists responsible for the quality system and day-to-day business objectives of the front end (specifications, processing instructions, process routing creation) & back end (laboratory testing & certification) of the order fulfillment process.

Led six market and regionally focused teams responsible for engineering the current product portfolio to meet stringent customer specifications within the Specialty Alloys Operations business segment (FY19 Revenue of $2B). Serve markets including Aerospace, Medical, Oil & Gas, Consumer, and Transportation.Set the vision and strategy for the group and accountable to achieving product performance metrics.

Responsible for the corporate material design team, including industry leading experts and PhD level engineers. Work collaboratively with six market facing commercial teams to surface and address customer unmet needs with new alloys. Also responsible for corporate technical library and the metallurgical investigation of customer claims quality function. In parallel, led Product Development group, including the portfolio of projects scaling to production, until a new leader could be found.Designed and implemented new enterprise level Stage Gate innovation process. Led selection, installation and training of cloud-based portfolio and project management software solution. Targeted improved discipline and accountability in project management from R&D engineers and in the business case / launch plan from commercial leads. Compiled project data into single database to enable analytical decision making.Incorporated advanced computational modeling techniques into alloy design projects, including neural networks and accelerated thermodynamic modeling. Alloy design relied on both cast/wrought and powder metallurgy processing techniques. Developed and maintain robust portfolio of early innovation projects exploring foundational processing-structure-property relationships of new alloys.Created external intellectual property (IP) monitoring committee to identify competitive threats and opportunities for licensing and production of expiring IP. Serve on internal IP committee that evaluated and dispositioned disclosures of invention, trades secrets, and responses to patent office actions.

Principle investigator on multiple concurrent projects into the research and development on Ni-base superalloys for high temperature and corrosion resistant applications, stainless steels, and soft magnetic alloys. Served as a technical resource for product metallurgists on production related issues.Played key role in development and scale up into production of high N stainless steel CarTech(R) SCF 260(TM}. Developed new Ni-base alloy targeting high temperature aero engine applications, resulting in a non-provisional patent application. Corrosion technical leader for R&D. Developed improved fracture mechanics based electrochemical test method for determining susceptibility of precipitation hardened Ni-base alloys to hydrogen embrittlement. Presented results at multiple industry events. Led R\&D safety team and related activities. Conducted safety walks and executed action plans for related findings.
