If you know the show Fixer Upper you will understand how fun it can be renovating homes. However, if you don't know what that show is it is a show where a husband and wife fix dilapidated homes and makes it a persons dream home. Ever since watching this show, I have wanted to provide that happiness when I am able to sell a home. I currently am helping Valparaiso Partners find homes in the up and coming Valparaiso area for them to purchase. I get updates on new homes that are listed and go online to look at which areas are selling faster than others. I have provided them with more than 10 homes to fix over the passed 5 years. I continue to help them find homes and get to work on them as well. In high school they provided me an opportunity to purchase a home and do the renovation myself. I had to contact contractors and get approval from the city to do certain things I wanted to do to make the home beautiful. It wasn't 3 weeks before someone stopped by and looked at the house and put in an offer. It was the fastest house Valparaiso Partners sold. However, not everyone is able to afford a home. I have been taught to give back to those less fortunate and have been volunteering for the Valparaiso Homeless Shelter since I could remember. It is important that I give back anyway I can and continue to do little things that help make a person's day.
