Sam uses such models to simulate crop yields, river flow, and other variables for research, decision making, and the publication of novel and important outcomes.Sam's published work focuses on climate-vegetation interactions using coupled models (e.g., the Community Earth System Model). He has also studied aspects of land-atmosphere interactions relating to solar panels, snow, biogenic VOCs, and hydrology. Other than at scientific meetings, Sam has talked about his work to high school students, the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, science panels, and university departments.
