I am an Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the Marketing area at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. I hold a Ph.D. in Marketing from Carnegie Mellon University. I am interested in customer analytics in multiple contexts: CPG industry, B2B, telecom, and nonprofit organizations. I’ve recently built Digital Marketing Twins to generate counterfactual simulations of customer behavior (satisfaction, switching...) using deep generative modeling and large-scale brand survey data across multiple firms.I've also been recently developing a privacy-preserving data fusion method in the telecom industry with my co-authors Prof. Longxiu Tian and Prof. Dana Turjeman. In a different context, I'm also studying the dynamics of donation behavior in a nonprofit organization within a large university with my co-authors Prof. Joy Lu and Prof. Alan Montgomery.I'm also working on flexible economic models of choice with Prof. Montgomery, and how consumers expand their consumption nonlinearly in product categories when their overall budget increases, to design more effective marketing instruments.My work involves various Bayesian methods, ranging from traditional Bayesian econometrics and time series, to modern probabilistic machine learning methods such as Gaussian processes and deep generative models.
