In this internship I assisted in the completion of a Hilton Garden Inn located in Pittsboro, NC. I was able to work side by side with my superintendent and project manager. Through them I gained great knowledge of what it takes to be a superintendent on a commercial project. Durning this summer I excelled in great communication with all subcontractors making sure schedule deadlines were being met.

In this position, I served at the newly established sheriff's office for Pitt County. At the outset, our responsibilities primarily involved conduit installation. This allowed me to learn new skills in bending and setting up conduit systems. Then pulling wires through the conduit, ensuring connectivity to panels across the building. As the project advanced, our duties expanded to encompass the installation of various fixtures including lights, emergency lights/signs, wall switches, and power packs. As we approached the project's conclusion, I actively participated in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that emerged following the activation of power systems.

During my internship at Sanford Contractors' utility division, I gained diverse insights by shadowing my superintendent. Our main project involved installing a new sewer line for an outfall in Fayetteville, NC. I conducted tests for leaks, assisted with final grading and seeding, and operated heavy machinery like excavators and skid steers. This experience provided invaluable knowledge in utility work and personnel management.

Last summer I worked for Bruce McFadden a custom home builder in Moore County, NC. My role was a laborer. Durning this job I did framing, trim work, utility work, foundation work, and most everything involving building a custom home. This experience was great for me because it allowed me to work and learn while using my hands which is something I love doing.
