The firm has steadily grown its client portfolio to over 50 organizations in various sectors in Kenya and currently has a turnover of over US$ 150,000. Achievements: Developed and introduced planning and use of budgets for all audit assignments irrespective of how small. This brought efficiency to the firm and the entire staff compliment are now able to quantify time spent on assignments with a view of improving the overall bottom line. Established a training program for all associates. This has seen the quality of audits and audit reports improve tremendously as the associates get continuous training during the year when not working on assignments.

Achievements: Project leader IFRS 17 impact assessment. Led ATI team in collating business information that enabled PwC to successfully develop an impact assessment report that was presented and adopted by the Board of Directors. Part of the project team that saw the successful implementation of underwriting system. This entailed working with the system vendors, IT and underwriting personnel on data migration, interface with accounting software amongst others. Fully automated the Syndil investments software that was previously used for bonds reporting only to include other financial instruments (deposits, money market instruments and stocks). Finance representative to the project team that was tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the Transparency Tool was procured and implemented. This ensured all clients details, information and data are properly recorded including risk aspects. This reduced the time taken on performing KYC procedures during on boarding and other credit risk evaluation of clients.

Achievements: Developed ZEP-Re’s Regional offices audit plan, reporting templates, guidelines and internal control framework that ensured compliance with HQ procedures and controls.  Assisted the Finance Director to prepare the company strategic and corporate plan. Finance department team lead appointed to be part of the committee that led McKinsey strategic business review of ZEP-RE’s business growth and performance.  Part of the team that reviewed the company’s investments processes and recommended outsourcing of the equity portfolio. This gave the finance team time to monitor and appraise performance of fund managers hence value addition. Played a central role in coordinating ZEP-RE’s business processes reengineering by PwC.  Finance team lead in the sourcing, procurement and implementation of the Innova Investment software.  Finance team lead selected to spear head the reimplementation of the sun accounting GL software.  Member of the Investment Committee that sat weekly to discuss and implement the company investment decisions.

Achievements: Designed a new chart of accounts for the Company and implemented it in the Upgraded SUN ledger accounting system.  In liaison with the IT unit, implemented the fixed assets module in SUN ledger accounting system from a manual fixed asset register.  In liaison with the Finance director, reviewed the Company’s financial policies and guidelines and drafted a new policy guideline for the Company’s financial resources.  Computerized the COMESA Yellow Card Reinsurance Pool general ledger system from manual to SUN system general ledger accounting system that resulted in improved data security, management and general efficiency in monitoring premium returns and collection of the Pool’s receivables.

Achievements: Was seconded to be part of the team that developed the internal audit shared service charter for the CFC Stanbic Bank Group and setting up internal audit systems, procedures and controls for use by Heritage Insurance Company Kenya Limited (subsidiary). Instrumental in the integration of the Oracle Financial Management System (accounting system) and the General Insurance system (underwriting system) in conjunction with the system analyst. Led a project team in computerizing the company fixed assets register.  In collaboration with the system analyst/programmer successfully computerized bank reconciliation process reducing preparation period from one week to two (2) days.
