To provide the Risk Management department with a reliable Risk Information SystemKey Outputs• Managed the Risk Management Information System called CARMS (Computer Aided Risk Management System) that was used countrywide to report all incidents and accidents in Transnet Freight Rail.• Ensured the integrity of CARMS by controlling varying types of access to the system e.g read only, edit, etc in order to improve the value and quality derived from the System and thus preventing data corruption.• Continuously monitored the System's availability and notified users beforehand in an event of system downfall.• Arranged training for users and provided them with training and after training support.• Managed the acquisition of IT related equipments to ensure that they integrate successfully with the existing technology.• Assisted the IT department in the mapping of Risk Management business processes• Provided IT solutions to facilitate the achievement of departmental strategies and tactics• Worked closely with external consultants on the development of new system in Risk Management called TOMS (Transnet Occurrence Management System)• Formed part of the team that tested the new TOMS system• Assisted in technology set-up for presentations and other meetings as and when required by EXCO members• Updated the Risk Management Intranet website and continuously improved its design to reflect current times.
