• Assisted in the management of the park’s flora. This included being part of a long term post-fire monitoring study, conducting rare plant surveys, collecting native plant seed, re-vegetation projects, and weed treatments.• Organized an assessment of Pinus ponderosa which was concerned with documenting individual tree, as well as whole stand health prior to the implementation of a prescribed burn scheduled for the late fall of 2012.• Hiked daily both on and off trails for long distances carrying equipment up to 50lbs• Experience using a Trimble GPS system to record data and find accurate locations

• Designed and executed my own research project surrounding bumblebee age and behavior • The initial project attempted to gain more insight into the relationship between bumblebee age and their ability to trapline; however, the weather did not facilitate our efforts due to the delayed flowering of our desired plant Penstemon digitalis.• Gained experience handling, tagging, identifying, and aging bumblebees.• Other experiences gained included: completed garlic mustard surveys, took and recorded measurements on bluebirds and tree swallows, recorded/analyzed vast amounts of data, and assisted my mentor, Dr. Randy Mitchell, in his personal research project looking at the stigma closure rates of monkey flower.
