Wildlife Crime Program Officer East Africa
Current• Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of Wildlife Crime Program projects and campaigns in East Africa consistent with IFAW’s mission and goals. Assists in conveying Program objectives and key messages to government officials and other stakeholders.• Assists in setting and monitoring IFAW EA Wildlife Crime relevant budgets and participate in fundraising efforts through proposal writing.• Works with the Head of Program and Communications Manager in developing campaign plans and key messages to raise awareness of IFAW EA’s WCP conservation and animal welfare campaigns and agenda.• Identifying, liaising, and managing new and ongoing collaborative working relationships with partners including local communities, national agencies, conservation and research organizations and inter-governmental organizations in the Horn of Africa. • Disseminating information on progress of specific project initiatives to other IFAW worldwide staff/departments, including program, communication, supporter relations and development.• Serves as Program’s initial point of contact in the East Africa office for wildlife crime related inquiries. • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing WCP trainings in East Africa while developing formal programmes of instruction. • Ensuring the development, monitoring and reporting on a quarterly basis, of indicators developed under the PME Plans.
