Samuel is the Founder Partner of S&H Partners and focuses on firms’ IP practice. Prior to setting up S&H, Samuel was Counsel and IP Lead at Khaitan & Co in their Bangalore office and was earlier associated with K&S Partners as Partner and Head of its Electronics Practise.Samuel primarily handles drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of computers, electronics, IoT, artificial intelligence, image processing, computer software, business methods, telecommunications, automotive, telematics, semiconductors, electrical, mechanical automation and medical devices. He also files and prosecutes trademark and design applications for clients.Samuel has over 14 years of experience in patent prosecution matters and has significant experience in prosecuting trademark and design matters. He advises clients on issues relating to enforcement and infringement of intellectual property rights, patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, due diligence, business strategies, acquisition strategies and technology trends apart from managing patent portfolios. He understands that intellectual property issues are fundamentals to all high-technology business today, and that these IP issues affect innovation, business strategies, acquisition strategies and more. This understanding of client’s perspective, combined with his engineering background gives him a distinct edge in patent prosecution areas of electronic devices, products and systems, as well as software systems which has helped him to successfully obtain allowance of some fascinating patent applications.
