Samuel Matiru Njuguna is a young leader who is passionate about community-led development and environmental conservation. He has a Diploma in Social Work and community development from the Cooperative University of Kenya and multiple certifications in Human Centered Design, Climate Justice, and Youth Climate Initiative. Currently, he is an Assistant Program Coordinator at CorpsAfrica/Kenya, where he performs a variety of administrative and support duties for the program coordinators and volunteers. He travels frequently to volunteer sites to offer support and follow up on their progress. Previously, he was a CorpsAfrica/Kenya Volunteer himself and implemented a water purification project in Machakos, providing clean and safe drinking water to the residents. He also worked as a Climate Change Champion at VSO.Samuel is enthusiastic about engaging local communities in creating sustainable solutions that empower them to take charge of their own development. He is a member of Youth For Sustainable Development, where he volunteers with fellow youths to empower the young generation. He hopes to inspire individuals and communities to take action to protect the environment for future generations. He is a lifelong learner aiming to be a source of knowledge and inspiration to others and providing the best service to whichever organization he serves. His aspiration is to make a significant impact in his society.
