Since I was young, I have had a keen interest in the sciences, especially those revolving around geology and biology. As a child, I would watch endless hours of nature documentaries and I would travel through museums with eager anticipation. That passion would ultimately lead me to become a volunteer for the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia for more than three years. After volunteering, I would move into a paid position for an additional two years at the same location. From my volunteering and paid work I learned how to apply my skills and knowledge into a practical setting.My post-high school education started at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, where I earned an Associate's of Science degree after two years. From there I moved onto Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in geology. After graduating, I took a fundamentals in Geographic Information Systems course at the University of Richmond, and I am currently enrolled in an advanced GIS certificate program from the same place.My hobbies include GIS work, gaming and computers, art, and herpetology and animals. I am eager to begin my career in the sciences and I want to thank you for reading.
