I developed a tool and model with Bob Rossner and Jeremy Klavans at the University of Chicago to provide a realistic and accurate simulation of the price per kilowatt hour of Nuclear Fuel electricity using current reactor technology. Our tool is the first to utilize the full fuel cycle (from mining to enrichment/production to disposal of spent fuel waste) and to incorporate all 3 prevailing reactor types (Once-through, Mixed Oxide and Full-Recycle).On the programming side this involved extensive use of the Web Workers API to run a Monte Carlo simulation with up to a hundred thousand iterations entirely in a web browser (no server side code) while simultaneously handling some intensive D3.js visualizations. I did all the coding. Our effort was published in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists (http://thebulletin.org/introducing-nuclear-fuel-cycle-cost-calculator8361) and received a bit of attention in the trade press and on Slashdot.

Contributor to the Flash Code, a high performance multi-physics code. Responsible for all aspects of automated test suite including writing suite python code and running server cluster for tests.
