As the Finance Coordinator/Analyst at the Chicanx Latinx Student Development Office of UC Berkeley, I played a key role in managing the financial operations to better serve Latinx students on campus. Collaborating closely with Pro Staff at the Latinx Student Resource Center, I was responsible for budgeting and processing reimbursement forms through the school administration.My role involved meticulous financial and strategic planning to ensure that resources were maximized and efficiently allocated. I focused on timely submission of forms to guarantee that students received the support they needed promptly. My efforts were instrumental in enhancing the availability of resources and support for the Latinx student community, contributing to their academic and personal success.

I was a part of the IGNITE Fellowship via TFA. Here, I led a small, personalized group of second-grade students in a virtual setting. As a result, I built meaningful relationships with them and helped accelerate their academic success. In addition, I worked closely with teachers to better understand the student's curriculum and learn skills used to get them engaged in what they are learning. I took this role because our education system has unequal access to opportunity, which was seen long before the COVID-19 pandemic, especially with kids from low-income communities and communities of color. I grew up in similar circumstances as many of them, so I understand many of their struggles. I want to make a difference by being a resource for them and this opportunity let me do just that.
