 Allocate tasks to finance personnel, optimally engaging same for effective and efficient performance of the assigned tasks. Review, modify and formulate (from time to time) financial and accounting policies, processes and procedures necessary to secure a functional control environment. Review of the Accounting Information System from time to time to ensure refinements are made thereto (where necessary) to accommodate strategic and operational changes in the company’s system of operations. Ensure a properly framed system for the accumulation of input items costs and the generation of unit costs of finished goods items is effectively and efficiently functional within the company’s system of accounting information.  Prepare company-wide annual budgets including operating budgets and financial budgets, ensuring a well-designed budgetary control system is maintained for proper implementation of same. Identify funding gap and explore alternative funding options with a view to ensuring required finance is sourced the most economical way possible. Authorize all payment vouchers, credit notes, debit notes and other instruments pertinent to financial transactions. Ensure adequate maintenance of all ledger accounts including receivables, other current assets, payables, other current liabilities, fixed assets etc., ensuring balances relevant thereto are duly supported with relevant account schedules.  Prepare company-wide, comparative financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement on monthly and quarterly bases; providing apt analyses and commentaries necessary to effectively communicate the details of the statements to the management. Collate and analyze financial data for the purpose of generating quantitative and qualitative financial information to guide business decisions including investment decisions. Ensuring efficient and effective engagement of the External Auditors.

 Draft the Internal Audit Charter of the organisation in line with the acceptable standards. Develop risk–based annual audit plans detailing the scope, nature, resource requirements and timing of audit activities.  Design internal audit procedures and work programmes.  Advise management on the resourcing requirements for the Internal Audit function, including any potential outsourcing arrangements.  Conduct audits to assess the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the established internal controls and procedures.  Identify key areas of risk within the organisation and propose appropriate controls to mitigate the risks.  Review the accuracy, correctness, completeness, timeliness and relevance of financial information and other disclosures provided to management.  Discuss audit findings and recommendations with line managers and report significant issues to senior management.  Prepare audit reports in line with the approved audit plan.  Monitor the timely implementation of the management actions recommended in the audit reports.  Provide senior management and the Board of Directors with an opinion on the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the internal controls in the organisation. Provide supports necessary to develop an internal control culture, including training to staff. Conduct ad-hoc investigations and reviews as requested by the Managing Director and/or Board of Directors Participate in the Board of Directors’ meetings.  Liaise with the external auditor on internal control issues.
