My duties as Deputy Editor incorporate many steps in the online publishing process:• Research artists and musicians, source and conduct interviews and present in-depth instrument reviews to camera. • Write articles, interviews, instrument and album reviews. • Proof the magazine - before and after the design stage - for copy errors, aesthetic choices and technical issues.• Location and studio cameraman and photographer for the magazine, with working knowledge of various photographic and cinematographic equipment and techniques, lighting and sound.• When filming on location, I liaise with any venue staff, PR companies, band management, artist relations and the artists directly. • Organise tuition section of the magazine, co-ordinating team of global contributors, camera crew and audio engineer. Responsible for transcribing, using Sibelius, all musical notation, which is provided as a downloadable PDF for each lesson, in every issue. • Help raise the magazine's profile through social media strategy.• Travel to NAMM Show, California, Frankfurt Musikmesse and Meinl Drum Festival in Gutenstetten, Germany as well as around the UK, to cover most relevant news, releases and events in the industry.
