In the substantial amount of time that I have spent at Cal Poly, I have cemented my commitment to environmental and sustainable design principles. In addition, I have acted on my commitment by completing several courses in environmental design and wildlife conservation, as part of my sustainable environments minor. Having completed over half of my architectural education at Cal Poly, I have amassed a solid foundation of knowledge surrounding architectural design and construction principles. The projects completed thus far in my studios have required a wide variety of innovative design-related skills, including design concepts, understanding advanced architectural technical skills, and modeling our ideas either in a physical or digital format. The aforementioned skills were utilized in a variety of software (Rhinoceros, the Adobe Cloud, 3D Printing and Laser Cutting, VRay, Twinmotion) excluding Revit. However, I have three years of self-taught experience with the architectural software from studying Revit during high school and my own personal research. Although I lack work experience within a formal architectural firm, I have shadowed at multiple firms in the Portland area, as well as completing the Portland ACE apprenticeship program during my senior year. This allowed me to work with professionals in the design field in order to complete a large-scale project within the downtown Portland area over the course of a school year.I am passionate about architectural design and principles, have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, and am driven by a constant motivation to learn more about the history and field of Architecture.
