I currently work at an organization called San Francisco youth works as an intern. I am also a student at Kipp San Francisco College Prep. Once I graduate from high school I want to study civil engineer or some form of management in construction. I have worked for a non-profit organization called Hucklberry in this job I was also an intern learning about the healthcare system and also different places homeless kids or teens can go to get resources or even find a place to sleep. I also learned about substance abuses and a little about the LGBTQ community and it’s resources. In this internship I learned that there many problems in how youth are perceived and that there are many homeless youth spending more time on the streets rather than school learning and creating a future for themselves. This is why I am mostly interested in working with youth and improving resources and making these organizations more known. I am mostly in between of what I want I to work in because I like working with youth but I also like engineering and building new things.
