This work requires me to assist in SCUBA training exercises, as well as perform my own guides for clients. Guides include setting up dive locations, dive planning, verifying functionality of client equipment, and execution of the dive plan.

While obtaining my MS in Ocean Engineering, I worked as a graduate research assistant (GRA) assisting in the development of a non-destructive technique for detecting pre-cracking corrosion in reinforced concrete structures. My work consisted of testing on reinforced samples using a transducer in tandem with a TR switch which connects to a pulse generator and oscilloscope, along with the refinement of physical parameters within a working model. The working model consists of an adapted Biot-Stoll model, which uses the physical properties of the concrete, rebar, and seawater. In addition to my thesis research, I conducted testing for Industry in summer 2022. My testing involved running resistance analysis on a drop stitch panel. The work I conducted involved the fabrication and assembly of the testing setup, the purchasing of testing materials, reading heat flux data and recording results during testing, running analysis on the data collected, and finalizing my findings in a report to present to the employer.

This project was assigned as a contract with a private company to perform resistance analysis on a drop stitch panel. My tasks included the design and fabrication of the testing assembly to hold the panel, purchasing of materials, assembly of the testing setup, performing testing, post-test data processing, and report writing. The testing involved a heat flux sensor along with a thermocouple working in tandem to provide the resistance across the panel at various temperatures ranging from 10 to 50 degrees Celsius. This project allowed me to gain experience in working with sensors, along with performing real world analysis on products provided by industry.
