When I was a kid I never thought I'd sit here and say that being in construction was cool. The coolest jobs were fire fighting and being a pilot, or maybe even an astronaut. Construction was not on the dream job list, that was until I really discover my passion for the industry. With so many sectors like residential and commercial, and the abundance of different jobs available, working in the construction industry has not only excited me about my future, but has given me a new dream career. Now that I'm in my last year at the University of Wyoming studying Construction Management, the anticipation to get into the field is eating at me. Being able to lead a group to accomplish amazing feet's and working together to accomplish a greater goal excites me. I had the privilege of being the CM Club President for two years, where I learned valuable skills like leading others, communicating to industry professionals, and organizing events. While working at WYDOT, I had the opportunity to acquire my CDL which I obtained. I was able to help our crew in ways I couldn't before and that adaptability allowed us to efficiently perform work that otherwise wouldn't have gotten done.I look to residential and find inspiration in building custom homes, serving the community and changing lives through exceptional work. Ethics has always been a big part of who I am and having a strong set of morals and values. Having integrity on the job, day in and day out, is what I strive to do. Being transparent with others about the construction process is an important character trait I look for in an organization. I can't wait to someday be apart of an organization where they not only align with my core values, but also change the world for the better.Construction has been my main field of study thus far however I like to put myself in challenges everyday whether that's challenging myself through sports or taking on new car projects. Having a diverse perspective and knowledge of different subjects is something I enjoy. Learning new things can sometimes be overwhelming but the satisfaction of picking up new skills or learning new subjects is rewarding and one of my biggest strong suits.My next big challenge in life is finding where and who I want to work with. Im excited to finally be able to use my skills and education in the industry and look forward to being apart of an amazing organization.
