Trainee teacher working in Year 6 under the mentorship of an experienced KS2 teacher. I developed my teaching practice through a school-centred approach. This allows for ongoing development in the classroom, coupled with weekly training provided by the experts at the Surrey South Farnham SCITT. As the year progressed I increased my teaching to support the class teacher, before taking complete control of the class from March until the end of the academic year. This required me to organise and administer the KS2 SATs independently, as well as co-plan the residential and summer productions. I also added to my experience by conducting a six week placement in a Year 4 class at Lingfield Primary School. I successfully completed the year with a grade of ‘Outstanding’.
