I currently serve as Assistant Director of the Honors Program at Dallas Baptist University, where I teach as an Adjunct Professor. I am also a doctoral candidate in Theology at the University of Exeter (UK), where I'm writing on Christology and Theodicy in conversation with Karl Barth and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. My educational pilgrimage began at Baylor University, where I received the B.A. in Great Texts of the Western Tradition with a minor in Church Music as part of the Honors Program. My Honors' Thesis, "Walker Percy's Comic Vision" (Outstanding rating) brought Walker Percy's theological and ethical reflection in his fiction and nonfiction to bear on the race question that perplexed him and his fellow Southerners. I then received the M.Div. with an emphasis in Theology from Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Over the course of my graduate studies, I developed a specific interest in the study of Karl Barth's theology (among other 20th-century theologians). I am currently engaging in research in this field.During my undergraduate and graduate careers at Baylor, I also discerned a call into higher education, developing a keen interest in theological study and teaching, most especially through the lens of the great literary works of the West. My particular interests in research include 20th-century Protestant theology, especially the theology of Karl Barth, as well as the the intersection of theology and literature (and especially the fiction of the American South and the Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoyevsky).
