Responsible for oversight of Offices of Admissions, Student and Faculty Affairs, Postdoctoral Affairs, Ph.D. Graduate Program in Basic Medicine Sciences, Basic, Translation, & Clinical Research, Research Compliance and Assurance, including IRB, IACUC, Biosafety, Radiation Safety. Served a dual position and chair of the department of pharmacology and senior associate dean for one year period until new chair was recruited and appointed in January 1995. Maintained this role and these responsibilities until becoming Acting Dean of the College in 2005 and permanent dean in 2007.
