I started at Caparo Atlas Fastening working as an apprentice in the metallurgical laboratory,I spent around 6 months covering for the senior metallurgist for 50% of that time. I completed a range of mechanical testing and learnt varying methods of metallurgical testing including completing PPAP's and spending time doing extra studies alongside this. I then worked alongside the Technical Sales Manager, Steve Walton, in developing new and existing products, creating prototype parts and giving… Show more I started at Caparo Atlas Fastening working as an apprentice in the metallurgical laboratory,I spent around 6 months covering for the senior metallurgist for 50% of that time. I completed a range of mechanical testing and learnt varying methods of metallurgical testing including completing PPAP's and spending time doing extra studies alongside this. I then worked alongside the Technical Sales Manager, Steve Walton, in developing new and existing products, creating prototype parts and giving technical metallurgical support to customers and colleagues from what I had learnt during my time in the laboratory. As of January 2015 I was offered a place in the Quality Department, where I now fulfill the role of a Quality Engineer - Completing 8D's, Investigating root causes, problem solving and implementing Quality control across the factory. A lot of my time is spent maintaining quality assurance, communicating and liasing with customers and suppliers and trying to develop my career as much as possible. Show less
