I worked with 10 different software built by students, to automate and simplify their deployment to a cloud or local environment so they can easily be demonstrated during university open days and similar events.The decision was made early on to not use the schools, at the time, unreliable OpenShift service, and instead utilise Vagrant to deploy the software locally. This was achieved with edits to the student software, making them function on a Linux environment, and shell scripts to manage the environment set up and building of the software.I then wrote a batch script to simplify the spinning up and shutting down of vagrant, making it a one click operation and removing the copying and pasting of commands. I also wrote documentation on each of the projects, what they include and what you can do, and how to handle vagrant should the batch script fail or become unavailable.
