• Worked in three departments within the OAG. The duties included: a) Public Trustee Department- conducting client interviews, writing correspondents to beneficiaries of the estate of deceased persons, drafting summary certificates & certificate of accounts for estates, petitioning the high court for a grant of letters of administration and their subsequent confirmation etc.b) Civil Litigation Department- Drafting court pleadings for, drafting legal briefs and opinions, carrying out legal research for the state counsels, attending court etc.c) Registrar General Department- worked under the Registrar of societies, companies, business name entities, debentures, Limited Liability Partnerships and marriages. The work entailed drafting court pleadings, court attendance, undertaking client interviews, mediation, reviewing and approving applications for registration, legal research, rapporteur for Companies Act 2015 Amendment meetings and the Business Registration Services Meetings etc.d) Official Receiver-entailed reviewing applications for insolvency practitioners, attending creditors meetings and public examination of a debtor in court, drafting court pleadings, drafting conveyancing instruments (discharge, transfers, consents etc.), undertaking legal research & drafting legal opinions etc.

The forum works towards:-improving literacy in the community through distribution of education materials to schools-environmental conservation through tree planting, cleaning campaigns and creating awareness on preservation of the eco-system.-organizing and participating in peace forums for East African youth-Advancing UN sustainable development agendas

Carried out an internship with the National Legal Aid & Awareness Programme (NALEAP) Nakuru Pilot Office.The daily activities included:•Offering free legal advice to clients.•Linking poor and/or unwell of clients with pro-bono lawyers.•Drafting of legal documents and court assistance for clients undertaking self-representation.•Mediation for parties seeking out an of court dispute resolution.•Visiting and interacting with remandees and inmates at the Nakuru Prison most of whom are victims of the backlog of cases in courts.•Common areas of law experienced at NALEAP included: criminal law, land law & conveyancing, family law, human rights law (children rights), contract law and labour law.
