After a leader left the school, I offered to take on this responsibility alongside my other leadership roles temporarily to support the school. This opportunity taught me so much and only heightened my passion for leading people and making a difference.

Focusing on Maths as a curriculum subject, I was in charge of developing our curriculum and ensuring that we had challenge, fluency practice and ample opportunities to reason. With these changes, our summative results improved year on year and soon became well above national. As well as this, the children were thriving and enjoying their Maths lesson. I later went on to train the subsequent leader and Maths continues to evolve and meet the needs of every child.

As an NQT, I began my time at AJS. I was fortunate enough to be part of a group of three NQTs that were part of an intensive coaching programme that, by the end of the year, ensured we were outstanding teachers able to deliver for the school's needs. In my second year, I worked closely with our Deputy Head, and SENco, to radically develop our provision for SEN children through clear targeting of gaps, personalised interventions and improving the communication between deployed staff and the class teacher. This further evolved my love of teaching and the support I was able to give every child in my class.

As part of the opening team, I contributed to the launch of a highly successful bar and restaurant in Royal William Yard.I created fantastic relationships with my team and customers - I am still in touch to this day. Here, I honed my skills as a cocktail mixologist and went on to train new staff.

This was my journey into cocktail mixology. Here I was part of a team that delivered high-end cocktails. Day-to-day, I created deals to entice customers, upsold and created a buzzing, busy atmosphere. An easy win was upgrading a glass of wine to a bottle!

During my university studies, I worked at a local Bar/Restaurant. My responsibilities have included placing brewery and food orders as well as waiting tables and aiding the organisation of promotions - there was always a chance to upsell. My responsibilities also include stock checks and restocking, cleaning and ensuring the establishment ran smoothly. This work was not only fun, but developed my self confidence and interpersonal skills.
