I take it as an essence of the whole bible, applicable to everyone on earth.About work, I have been working in Motorola Taiwan for 9 years. Later Motorola was merged into Google. And then our business unit was sold to Arris. Now, the name is changing to CommScope. Basically, I am in the same location working for more than 14 years. Just like other Taiwan EMS company, our site was a big factory with some design teams. And our factory had a special line well-prepared for all kinds of prototype builds. Each design team contacts its own BU or customer, to get himself projects and financed. Most of the projects are OEM projects, some are ODM. Then, the high volume, high price, and high yield products would stay in Taiwan factory for later mass production. Otherwise would go to another EMS in China. I have experience on Cable Modem and ONT designs. These designs are end-to-end, one-stop service. This means they are from Market Require Documents to Mass Production sustaining. Every process within meets TL9000 requirements, which means they are reviewed and documented in detail. Now I am supporting the North American Set-top box development. Yes, I have been serving in three different business units in the samecompany. In short, I am an engineer with Set-top box, ONT, and Cable Modem experiences.Except design projects, others are OEM projects. Since we had a big factory here, these jobs were mostly production and quality related. Like: prototype builds, production review, test flow arrangements, production failure analysis, quality ensuring, failure mode analysis, reliability analysis, and cost down. Although I am not a member of the supply chain, but I support promptly.Under Taiwan government’s policy to encourage the industrial innovation, there is a tax deduction for factories that are investing on the R&D Projects. This deduction takes a detail report and supporting documents. It will be reviewed by Industrial Development Bureau and Tax Bureau. If approved, the annual expenses on related labor and equipment can be taken as a tax deduction. I had been written this report for 10 years, and all reports were approved. This task ended when we leave our factory to Pegatron.
