· Review and process legal documents as assigned including, but not limited to, bankruptcy notifications, subpoenas, and garnishments. Work with appropriate entities as necessary to ensure that all legal issues are accurately processed and tracked. Determine whether further review of complex or otherwise high-risk documents is required by the Paralegal, Staff Attorney, and/or General Counsel.· Perform Symitar account maintenance in instances where bankruptcy has been filed by one or more account holders. Duties may include creating new loans based on reaffirmation agreements or plan confirmations, flagging discharged or non-reaffirmed loan balances for charge-off, ensuring that appropriate flags and blocks are placed on accounts, closing lines of credit, closing accounts, and/or verifying the accuracy of credit reporting.· Determine if further action needs to be taken on bankruptcy filings.· Prepare Proofs of Claim and related documentation in bankruptcy cases prior to the expiration of any applicable case deadlines.· Post payments from bankruptcy trustees to member accounts subject to bankruptcy.· Process invoices associated with legal fees.· Provide training and assistance to staff (notary, operational related training, etc.).· Review credit report disputes submitted by members on accounts subject to bankruptcy and take necessary actions to respond and/or update reporting data.· Process various monthly reports and maintain accurate reporting, appropriate tracking and measurement of department activity and results.· Provide back-up for the other Legal Operations Specialist(s) and provide coverage for those duties as needed, under the direction of the Paralegal & Legal Operations Manager.· Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.· Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.· Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
